Day One: Our
staff will meet you at the airport and see you to your hotel in the
northern part of the city.
2.
Day Two: We will
have a guided tour of Monserrate, Museo del Oro, Museo Nacional, La
Quinta de Bolivar, and La Candelaria.
3.
Day Three: We
will have a guided tour of the salt mine at Zipaquira (the only
other one in the world which also has a cathedral is in Krakow,
Poland). Then it is on to Guatavita and a tour of the La Universidad
de la Sabana in Chia.
4.
Day Four: We
will travel to Tunja, the historic capital of Boyaca Province, visit
some unusual houses in that city, and then continue on to Villa de
Leiva, where we will stay in the magnificent Hotel Duruelo.
5.
Day Five: We
will visit two marvelous sites, El Fosil and Ecce Homo, and then
shop in the quaint village of Raquira.
6.
Day Six: We will
travel to Barichara and stay at a centuries old Spanish Mission,
Hostal Mision Santa Barbara. The
town has changed little in the past several hundred years and the
people are very friendly.
7.
Day Seven: We
will travel to Bucaramanga along a very scenic route which reminds
one of the Grand Canyon.
8.
Day Eight: We
will catch the Avianca plane to Cartagena and later take the Chivas
tour of historic sites in Cartagena.
9.
Day Nine: We
will take a boat to the Isla del Rosario which has numerous
recreational facilities.
10.
Day Ten: We will
continue sightseeing in the marvelous city of Cartagena.
11.
Day Eleven: We
will catch an early flight to Bogota and then your return flight to
the United States.
Obviously, we are very flexible
and there will be ample time for shopping, wandering off on your
own, and just having fun. The
cost for this trip is $2,695 plus tax.
But the tax is only applicable for Texas residents.
